A multipurpose theater space located in what once hosted the Richter factory to make machine components and the Bendelmayer foundry plant. Since 2012, La Fabrika has underwent a full-scale process of redesign owing to private funding to become what it is today: a place that offers artists of all types two theater halls (Studio 1 & Studio 2), a spacious bar with a piano and a small stage for improvizing, a gallery and necessary facilities behind the scenes. It is open to all forms of art; dramaturgy, however, is primarily focused on the younger artist to engage and attract a rather young audience.
La Fabrika entered any broader awareness through extraordinary performances of e.g. artist ensemble of La Putyka or by staging Iconic Show – a Czech theatrical performance. In addition to theater events, there are concerts, exhibitions, film screenings, multimedia displays, performances, lectures, workshops, all kinds of social gatherings or acrobatic shows.
La Fabrika was formed from two interconnected factories originating from the early twentieth century; the design made by KAVA Studio was the basis.
The process preserved the typical industrial style such as wooden beams, floor structures, large windows etc.
